What does a question cost?
Every question the AI agent answers from raw GA4 data runs one or more BigQuery queries, and BigQuery charges by how much data those queries read. Adjust the assumptions to see roughly what typical questions cost, and what a month of use adds up to.
Six example questions
Cost per answer at on demand pricing of US$6.25 per TiB read. The bar shows data read on a log scale, so each step to the right is ten times more data.
A month of use
Based on a typical mix: mostly quick daily questions, some weekly and comparison questions, and a few long trend questions.
These are estimates, not quotes. Event volume and row size vary a lot between properties. Cost also depends on what a question asks for, not just how far back it goes. Think of the data as a giant spreadsheet: you only pay for the columns the agent opens. “How many users?” opens one or two columns. “Show me everything” opens all of them, so it costs much more, even for the same dates.
Exact numbers are available before any query runs. BigQuery can do a free dry run that reports exactly how much data a query would read. The agent can check that first and refuse anything above a set limit.
Not included: the AI model’s own usage costs, storage, and the GA4 server on Cloud Run, which costs very little when idle.
